The SPARK Fellowship aims to identify, nurture, and support innovative ideas emerging from students and early-stage innovators associated with Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology. The fellowship provides financial assistance up to ₹30,000 for a duration of one year to catalyse ideation, early experimentation, conceptual development, and pre-prototype progress. It promotes a culture of innovation aligned with institutional goals and the national biotechnology innovation ecosystem.
- 1 Enrolled students of Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology (UG / PG / PhD).
- 2 Student innovators working under approved mentors of the Institute.
- 3 Registered teams under ideation-level programs — Ideathons, Bootcamps, SPARK Tank, or Incubation Pre-cells.
- 4 The idea must be at the concept or ideation stage and not already funded under another institutional scheme.
- Original bills/invoices must be in the name of Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology or as per financial norms.
- Submitted with a utilisation summary and progress note.
- Funds must be used strictly for items approved by the Screening Committee.
- Any deviation requires prior written approval.
Execute Approved Activities
Innovator carries out activities as per the sanctioned SPARK proposal.
Submit Required Documents
Original bills/invoices, utilisation certificate, and half-yearly progress report.
Multi-Level Review & Verification
Bio Enabler Centre Office → Finance Department → Institute Management.
Reimbursement Processed
Funds are released after full approval and compliance confirmation.
- Half-yearly progress report required from all fellows.
- Final completion report at end of fellowship tenure.
- Review meetings to assess progress, feasibility & fund utilisation.
Fellowship suspension · Fund withdrawal · Termination from scheme.
