Youth Innovation Shines at BIBT Jaipur's Hackathon 2025

Introduction

On April 17, 2025, the campus of Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology (Jaipur) came alive with fresh ideas and excitement. The event—Hackathon 2025, called ‘Ideas for Future’—was a one-day program that focused on finding smart and practical solutions for energy, water, and waste problems.

Organized in partnership with Vatsalya, UNICEF, and the Government of Rajasthan, this event gave young students from Rajasthan a stage to present their ideas and bring real change.

A Powerful Start to the Day

The event began with registrations early in the morning, followed by breakfast for all the participants. Different lecture halls (LT1, LT2, LT4) were assigned for thematic pitching based on the idea category.

The opening ceremony started at 10:00 AM with the lighting of the holy lamp. Dr. Hitesh Gupta gave the welcome speech, followed by Er. Kartikey Gupta from Vatsalya explained the purpose of the event. Dr. Sudipti from Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology spoke about how the contest would run.

A special message on climate change and action was shared by Mr. Rushubh Himani from UNICEF. Government officials from different departments also shared motivating words. The Chief Guest, Shri Madan Lal Dilawar Ji, Minister of State for Education, Rajasthan, gave the keynote address. Guests were then honored with mementos as a mark of respect.

Smart Ideas Take the Stage

From over 100 student entries, ideas were screened in different rooms based on themes:

  • Energy ideas

  • Water conservation

  • Waste management

The screening was carried out by experienced jury members and mentors like Dr. Sudipti, Mr. Dhananjay, and Er. Kartikey Gupta, and Ms. Munindita. By 1 PM, the top 20 ideas were selected for the final pitch.

This hackathon was a great example of how events like this help students who are pursuing biotechnology courses after 12th in India or planning a career in science. It showed them how their education can solve real-life problems.

In a time when students often look for more than just textbooks, this event gave them real exposure. Whether someone is already pursuing B.Sc Biotechnology in Jaipur or just planning to apply, watching peers solve big problems can be truly inspiring. It also provided a great opportunity for networking with experts from UNICEF, Vatsalya, and various government departments.

Final Pitch and Winning Moments

After lunch, the top 20 students presented their ideas in front of the jury. These pitches were full of passion and practical thinking. The event gave a stage to young minds—students, innovators, and changemakers—who were ready to make a difference.

The final results were announced in the closing ceremony. The top 8 ideas were awarded and celebrated. These winners showed the power of thinking differently and working with a purpose. The Chief Guest and the jury handed out certificates and mementos to all the winners and guests.

At the end of the event, participants were invited to submit detailed project proposals for future support and development.
